Board-certified expertise. Clear, defensible analysis.
I am a General/Minimally invasive surgeon (MIS) and Assistant professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins Department of Surgery. After receiving my medical degree I went on to do 11 years of surgical training including 2 fellowships (sub-specialty training); a Colorectal surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic as well as an Advanced Gastrointestinal/Minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
As a General/MIS surgeon, Dr. Hassab has had extensive training in all surgical modalities; open, laparoscopic, and Robotic surgical techniques that involve the abdomen. This includes Bariatric, Foregut (Reflux disease, Hiatal hernias), colorectal surgery as well as Hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction.
While I am deeply committed to providing my patients with the latest in surgical innovation, my greatest joy is my family. When I’m not in the OR, you’ll find me on the sidelines of a soccer field cheering on my three boys or enjoying a quiet day at the beach with my beautiful wife
